Nearly 60% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s Global Gag Rule
New polls show that American support for reproductive freedom is at an all-time high.
A new bipartisan poll from the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE) and PAI shows that 60% of American voters are opposed to President Trump’s Global Gag Rule. The poll finds that the majority of Americans agree that the United States has a moral obligation to take action when it comes to the health of women and girls across the world.
“Over half of likely American voters oppose banning U.S. global health assistance to health care organizations in other countries that provide abortions or referrals to women even if they use their own funding.”
Furthermore, a recent poll conducted by NBC and the Wall Street Journal shows that support for Roe v. Wade is at an all-time high. Seventy-one percent of Americans believe that the Supreme Court decision, which established a woman’s legal right to an abortion, should not be overturned.
